Four Generations of
Bringing Buildings Alive
The Carolinas' Most Trusted Commercial Electrical Contractor — Since 1959
The Carolinas' Most Trusted Commercial Electrical Contractor — Since 1959
When you hire an electrician, you're not just looking for wires and tools — you're trusting someone with your business, your home, and your family's safety. At Stelco Electric, we've built that trust for more than six decades by doing things the right way, the first time, every time.
As a fourth-generation, family-owned company, we understand what it means to serve our neighbors. Our clients — from general contractors and property managers to homeowners — trust us because we bring generations of experience, licensed professionals who prioritize safety, and transparent communication from estimate to completion.
Why Clients Choose Stelco Electric
Serve Something Bigger
Every project we take on is part of something larger -- a building that serves people, a business that depends on uptime, a community that needs safe, reliable infrastructure. We don't just install electrical systems. We power what matters to you.
Deliver What We Promised
You'll get realistic commitments, disciplined execution, and no surprises. The scope, schedule, and budget we agree to is the scope, schedule, and budget we deliver.
Do What's Right, Not What's Easy
When something isn't right, we fix it -- even when no one's looking. You get a team that prioritizes doing the job correctly over cutting corners or rushing to close out.
The ALIVE Guarantee
How we bring your building to life -- from first conversation to final turnover.
Assess for Fit
Every project starts with understanding your building, your timeline, and whether we're the right partner.
Lead with a Plan
Your project gets a clear plan before a single wire is pulled -- scope, schedule, and expectations documented.
Install with Precision
Trained field crews execute with discipline, quality checks, and code compliance at every stage.
Verify Performance
Systems are tested and verified to perform as designed -- not just energized and abandoned.
Execute Clean Turnover
Your building is handed over ready to perform, with documentation and zero loose ends.
Your building won't be signed off until it performs exactly as designed. If something isn't right, it gets fixed. That's the ALIVE Guarantee.
The Stelco Sparks
Our three core values come to life through 30 specific behaviors we call The Stelco Sparks -- the daily habits that define how our teams show up on your jobsite.

The Steele Family Legacy
From "Steele Electric Company" to STELCO — four generations building trust, one project at a time.
Harry Kenneth Steele, Jr.
Became one of the first licensed electricians in North Carolina. His commitment to doing the job right — not just fast — laid the foundation for one of the area's most respected electrical companies.
Thomas E. Steele Joins
Thomas joined the family business full-time, expanding into North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Alabama. Known for his work ethic and personal integrity, Thomas led by example until his passing in 2017.
Harry W. Steele Takes Ownership
A proud NC State alumnus who grew up surrounded by the hum of transformers and conduit runs, Harry became part owner in 2011 and obtained his unlimited electrical licenses in NC and SC by 2017.
Caleb A. Steele — 4th Generation
Caleb joined Stelco Electric after graduating high school, currently enrolled in a 4-year apprenticeship program through ABC. He continues the family tradition, reminded to "be proud of what you are helping build."
